Feeding Your Face by A.J Roche’
You may do all the right things for yourself. Like eating right, cleansing and moisturizing, chugging down jugs of water daily, but you may still have tired, uneven or dry skin. Stresses, internal or external can take a toll on your skin, especially your face. Below are some excellent ways to give your face a boost, naturally and in the comfort of your own home.
Put a Mask on It
Facial masks are some of the easiest beauty creations to make at home. And you can literally eat them, which can not be said for most beauty products on the market. Plus the price you may pay per ounce could put a huge dent in your wallet! Below are a few recipes you can make and use in your own home. Try to purchase organic products when possible. When applying your face mask, apply in an upward and inward circular motion using only the fingertips. Try not to drag or stretch the skin. Avoid the inner eye area, as well as the inside of your nostrils and mouth. Don’t forget your neck and jaw line!
Banana and Cornmeal Booster – Normal to dry skin
Half a banana
2 tablespoons cornmeal
I egg yolk
splash of full-fat organic milk
*Mash the banana and blend it with the cornmeal and egg yolk. Add milk to make a smooth but not runny paste. Apply to the face and rinse after ten minutes.
Rich Avocado Facial – Dry Skin
I tablespoon Mashed Ripe Avocado
I teaspoon Honey
3 Drops of Apple Cider Vinegar
A small amount of Sesame Oil
Mix the first three ingredients together, then add just enough sesame oil to create a spreadable mixture. Apply to face and leave on for ten minutes. Rinse and finish with rosewater and moisturizer.
Purchased Natural Masks
Two highly recommended natural masks to purchase are Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare Intense Nourishing Treatment and Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic Rose Formula Anit-oxidant Facial Mask. As with any product, homemade or purchased, always test a small spot on the back of your hand and give it at least 8 hours before applying the product to your face. This is considered an allergy test and will allow you to see if you have a sensitivity or allergy to the product! Organic sun block can also help protect your skin from damage. Love and light and facing right! <3
