week.ly 2 (02.03.17)
This Week.ly I spent some time in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center for a citywide (Albuquerque) collective impact initiative to ensure that every child K-8 has access to a meaningful and sustained engagement with the arts throughout their educational journey. Arriving in D.C. on Monday, the same day that Democratic Congressmen and women were taking part in Muslim Ban Protests on the steps of the United States Supreme Court, I was immersed in the energy of our nation’s capital. I was 24-7 news in my hotel room, and when I wasn’t in my hotel room I was in conversations about how to ensure that the arts remain as a potential lifeline and career to Americans in the face of shifting national priorities.
Anything But Trump
So yeah, I didn’t have a lot of time to meme the early half of this week, but I think I made up for it in the past 24 hours. Facebook free, but focused as ever. Looking forward to meming about something besides Trump … but the first 100 days is like sweeps week, yo. Happy Black History Month. -hb
