The Name Given by Joseph García
Ulum Balambiquique’ is the name given
From a family that the empire has driven
From a land where nothing is forgiven
I have arrived and I survey and inside am livid
For the pain and suffering given
To innocent men and women and children
In the name of an Ideology that is driven by the madness
Of the sadness that is rife with the corruption and
Misgivings of a people lost and on a daily basis falsely forgiven
Permissive is the way and no convictions hold sway
And so I, from a distant and destroyed land
Am Nemesis, the goddess of justice and retribution
‘Ulum Balambiquique’ is who I am and learning and living
Is what I do today in this heartless land
I survey the excess and hubris of those who deny
That their neighbor is their brother and their mother has
Been tossed aside of no use and of no value to buy
Of no use it may seem that the margins are what bleed but
We who are refugees of the battles wait and see
Here by little choice we wait and see
The day has come and we are one
Immigrant and refugee
To those who care for me, ‘Ulum Balambiquique’
