The Land of Plenty by Joseph J. García
Drink up my friend of the alcoholic type
we are close and oh so tight
as long as the beer flows and my moneys not blown
superficial friendships reign in the land of endless pain
brought by the Spanish and made more available by the USA
Drink like capitalism is not here to stay
Pray that your father, mother, and uncle, can keep it at bey
The monster, the unstoppable drug
lethally the most legal of them all
my how they try to stop
and oh how the 12 steps drop
the blame and shame like a prayers refrain
I was a sinner till I found the horde
and hording my liquor like the almighty dollar is the final word
Guns I keep just in case
But the ultimate victim is you and I
Shots of liquor and shots from guns
Stunningly thrown at the innocent ones
Be strong your not crazy too
The meds they help unlike having someone to talk too
The land of plenty has it all
pick your poison
sugar, crack, guns and all.
