Back by popular demand, Stoic Frame returns to its birthplace and home stage, the LAUNCHPAD on SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15 with ¡REVIVA! and Concepto Tambor, to celebrate a 15 year long career which had its final chapter in 2007…until now. Although its former members continue to be very active with prolific music careers in New Mexico and California, the four have not collectively stood on the same stage for over 7 years. There will be a second acoustic, intimate show laced with storytelling and co-hosted by special guests on Sunday November 16 at a location to be announced. Part of the weekend’s proceeds will benefit the New Mexico Academy of Rock and Blues (NMARB), which Keith Sanchez (vocals, guitar) and Glen “Buddha” Benavidez (guitar, percussion) run for local youths as a way of “passing the torch” of the Stoic Frame musical legacy. Matias “Mato” Pizarro (drums) and Todd Sanchez (Bass) round out the band.
Celebrating Our Fans
“This reunion is a celebration not just for Stoic Frame, but for our fans and anyone who believed in us, our message, and our mission” says Keith, who currently leads Keith Sanchez and the Moonthieves. “Stoic Frame has influenced so many fans and up and coming musicians here in NM. This reunion is important to show our supporters that we haven’t forgotten about them or the passion behind our music”, adds Buddha, who plays bass in local reggae sensation band ¡Reviva!.
Stoic Frame’s accomplishments in the music world include national distribution, a #1 charting song on the national Spanish Rock Radio & Records charts, having music featured on major network shows such as The Shield on FX, and videos in regular rotation on MTV Español International and Univision. They were the first independent act ever to reach the number one spot in the Latin Alternative radio genre. Stoic Frame toured relentlessly throughout the Southwest and the West Coast.
With three of its members hailing from Belen, New Mexico and the other from Chile, the band moved from Albuquerque to Los Angeles, becoming one of the most popular bands in the Southwest and attaining a prominent status in the LA scene. Stoic Frame forged a groundbreaking bilingual crossover concept in the edgy modern rock genre by incorporating Latin rhythm to create a strikingly different sound with a message of awareness and political consciousness that placed it within a larger community of artists with a purpose.
Reviving Concepts
The night would not be complete without the presence of one of Stoic Frame’s longest standing rhythmic collaborators CONCEPTO TAMBOR, and their fellow worldly conscious musicians ¡REVIVA!
